Study those routes/trails such as the Oregeon Trail, The Boston Post Road, or The Miami Path. Books on U.S water and land migration routes are available in most Public Libraires. Often times our ancestors were buried along those trails in unmarked graves. Also, do not forget, some of them may have married during their journey.

FIRST INTERSTATE IN 1811 (?)

Started in 1811 with a goal of linking Baltimore, Md to St. Louis, Mo. Know as the Great Western Road, The Old Pike, The Cumberland Road, The National Trail and lastely US Rte 40 begining in Cumberland, Md. in 1811 and completed to Vandalia, Il...the orginal State Capital of Illinois...in 1838. Tens of thousands of pioneers traveled the route. Numerous cemeteries were created along the way. Source: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC; VOLUME 193 March, 1998. PP 82 thru 99. So, study your history, geography, and cartography in an attempt to learn more about your ancestors.
